Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about going solar with SUNOVA

Got Questions?

We've answered the most common solar questions to help you make an informed decision.

How much does a solar system cost?

The cost varies based on system size, home energy needs, and installation complexity. Residential systems typically range from $15,000–$35,000 before incentives. With federal tax credits and financing options, most homeowners see a positive ROI within 6–8 years. We offer $0-down financing starting at $149/month.

How long does installation take?

Most residential installations are completed in 1–2 days. The full process from initial consultation to system going live typically takes 6–10 weeks, accounting for design, permitting, and utility connection. Commercial projects vary based on scale.

What warranty does SUNOVA offer?

All SUNOVA installations come with a 25-year comprehensive warranty covering panels, inverters, and workmanship. Our panels are warranted for at least 90% output for 10 years and 80% for 25 years. We also offer optional extended service plans.

What happens on cloudy days or at night?

Solar panels still generate electricity on cloudy days — just at reduced capacity. At night, your system switches to grid power or draws from your battery storage. Our smart energy management system ensures seamless transitions so you never experience interruptions.

Are there government incentives available?

Yes! The federal solar tax credit (ITC) currently allows you to deduct 30% of your solar system cost from your federal taxes. Many states offer additional rebates, net metering programs, and property tax exemptions. Our team will help you maximize all available incentives.

Do I need to maintain my solar system?

Solar systems require minimal maintenance. We recommend an annual professional inspection and panel cleaning. Our monitoring platform will alert you to any performance issues automatically. All Pro and Enterprise plans include scheduled maintenance visits throughout the year.

Can I go completely off-grid?

Absolutely! With the right combination of solar panels and battery storage, you can achieve complete grid independence. We design fully off-grid systems tailored to your location, energy usage, and backup requirements. Our engineering team will calculate the exact system size you need.
